(Germany) – Grand Cepe won big at the ‘German Design Award 2019’, the highest official design awards in Germany. They are presented by the German Design Council under the auspices of the Federal Ministry for Business and Technology.

The award’s international jury of experts said: “This design combines a metal cylinder with a heavy glass disc mounted horizontally – thus making the luminaire visually arresting even when it’s switched off. That said, the intriguing beauty of the unusually structured lampshade only becomes apparent when the luminaire is switched on.”

Christian Seltmann, Managing Partner at Massifcentral, gave his thoughts on the company’s big win: “This award confirms our philosophy: To unite outstanding design with innovative technology and create luminaires that are not only visual highlights but also exploit the fascination and magic of light in its full beauty.”

Currently Grand Cepe is available with the finishes Black, Stainless Steellook, Highgloss Nickled Chromelook, and Matte Brass.
