Pinhole Pollen
March 18, 2014
Based in Cornwall, UK, Amy Cooper creates porcelain pieces that are slipcast and individually decorated so that no two pieces are exactly the same. After a piece is sanded smooth, a hand drawn stencil is applied and then sandblasted to create a raised pattern. The pieces are fired to 1250°C and diamond polished before being wired up. Pinhole Pollen is inspired by a microscopic look at the natural world.
